Happy Turkey Time of the Year

This is probably our favorite time of the year.  It always feels like once we get past Halloween, the year just snowballs and ends without us knowing.  The giving, the eating, the family gatherings and the holiday spirit all make for a fun and fantastic time of the year.

These are the things that we're especially thankful for this year:

Our Wonderful Kiddos:  It's hard for us to remember what life was like without kids.  It's amazing how much children can consume your life.  Kaniela has always been such a fun and sensitive child.  Now that we've got two, Kaniela has begun to take the role of big brother very seriously.  When baby wakes up, he runs over to his bed to ensure that he's okay, ensures that Mommy and Daddy know when baby is awake and/or doing something cute, and yes, he's begun teasing and bullying a little as well.  Jarom is such a happy and fun child who always has a smile on his face.  He's growing so fast and is getting so big.  At four-months old, he's wearing clothes that Kaniela wore when he was about 9 months.  We absolutely love our two little boys.

Our Amazing Family: These pictures represent a fraction of the wonderful family we have.  We are so grateful to have family (both near and far) that we can spend time with, Skype with, Facebook with...you get the point.  Family has always been important, however seeing our boys love and be loved by cousins, grand parents, great grand parents, aunts and uncles makes family seem more important now.  We feel fortunate to come from families that are both tight knit and semi-functional :-).

Without the examples of our families, we would have no clue how to raise our own kids and our lives would be pretty boring.  We now know why our families made great efforts for us to spend time together.  Hopefully we can make that same effort.  To both of our families (near and far) we say, "We love you and hope that all is well.  We wish we could see you all more often and are thankful for your love and examples to us."

To great friends we say, "Can you believe how time flies?"  It seems like we barely get to see many of you, but are glad that when we do, it's as if our friendships had never skipped a beat.

To great co-workers we say, "Thank you for keeping our lives sane and for working hard so that Kevin still has a job."  Kevin spends about half of his "awake time" with you and we're glad that we enjoy your company...otherwise...

Our lives are truly blessed by all of you, and we thank our Heavenly Father for the influence that you've all had (and continue to have) on our lives.  Happy Thanksgiving to all (even if this post is a few days late).
