To all my Utah Friends

(video credit goes to Droga5 and also to Mike Morris. www.morriscreate.com)

This one isn't about Kaniela...not directly anyways, but something that I thought would definitely be blog worthy.

I mentioned in my last post that I've been working on a project with UNICEF. I should probably be a little more specific to say that a team of us from BYU have been working with UNICEF.

The TAP Project was launched in New York in 2007 by UNICEF and ad agency Droga5.

One simple idea. Donate a dollar for something you would normally get for free: tap water. Save a child's life.

It has been such a meaningful experience to work on this project. The BYU Ad Lab is the agency of record for the TAP Project in Utah, so we've been busily working on it.

For more info on the project you can go to either www.tapproject.org or www.utahtap.org

Like UNICEF says, "Whatever it takes to save a child's life"

If you're interested in getting involved, drop me a comment.

A Gift from our friends at UNICEF

As some of you probably know, in the lab Kev's been working on a project with UNICEF called the TAP Project. You'll be hearing a lot more about it over the next couple of months on our blog (if you'd like to read more about it, you can actually go to tapproject.org). Anyways, Kev has been working with a few people at the New York headquarters. They got wind of Kaniela's birth and when he got back to the lab, there was a package there for him from them.

It was a "Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF" shirt from American Apparel. It was a cool gift for us to receive from friends in New York, and Kaniela looks so cute (as you can see he'll have to grow into it), that we had to post pictures of it.

We love his face in the second one. We also wanted to say thanks to everyone else who has been so generous and has given us gifts. We wish that we could name each of you.

Back in his tanning bed...

So our little boy is back in his tanning bed. There was a bunch of different mix-ups with the nurses and assistants at our pediatrician's office. Basically, one said that he was okay without actually checking his chart, and another (more senior) didn't know that we were told that and was surprised that we had taken him off the bed, when in fact someone at their clinic told us to go ahead and have the rental people come pick it up...

So basically long story short, we're a little disappointed with the mix up and are saddened that we have to have our boy back on the lights.

Aside from that though...we're having so much fun with him. Cea loves to be at home with him all day, and he is growing and growing more each day (which is a good sign despite having to be on the lights). It's funny though, because he spent his first few days in the lights, he is so comfortable now that we've put him back in them. He's been back on for the last couple of hours, and he is just chillin' as he soaks up the rays.

We hope that you are enjoying our pictures...we know that we do. Here are some fun ones from today! At least he'll be getting a free (well for him but maybe not for his parents and their insurance) tan until his bilirubin count goes back down!

A Little Comparison For Fun

We want to take a vote...can you see any resemblance?

A Growing Boy. A Ball of Joy.

Another fun day in the Wunder home. Here are some fun pictures of the day, and each have a story to tell.

We had to get a picture of Kaniela in these thermal pajamas in honor of his Uncle Russ. Kaniela's not just spreading Christmas cheer, but instead joy throughout the entire year!

People are starting to say that Kaniela is looking more and more like his dad...what do you think?

This cute little outfit was given to Kaniela by his Aunty Luana Turetzky (I hope that spelling is right)... Funny story. So Aunty Luana and her family moved into our ward a couple of weeks ago and it has been a pleasure getting to know them. Being that she is from Hawaii, we decided that we wanted to get together for dinner. We had dinner set for last Sunday, but Cea wasn't feeling good and we needed to reschedule for Tuesday night. We called her in the late afternoon to tell her that we weren't coming again that night...she asked why and jokingly gave Kevin a hard time and he said, "Well we're in the hospital right now!" She, as we also were, was shocked and took it upon herself to be sure that we were taken care of. She brought us dinner the night we got back from the hospital along with this outfit. She and her daughter were walking through the store and her daughter said, "Mommy, I think that we should get Kaniela a gift. And it should have frogs on it."

Little did Luana or her daugher know that Cea absolutely loves frogs!

We decided that Kaniela got so used to being suspended in his billibed, that we had to get something that would give him the same feeling of being suspended, so this was our gift to Kaniela today.

He's growing so much, and we love watching him develop (physically, mentally and emotionally), and hope that you are enjoying it with us also!

Back to School for Kev. Bonding time for Mom and Kani.

Here are some fun pictures for our day. Cea is going to have to start updating the blog because she will be spending more time with Kaniela than Daddy does. This was a fun day for them. Kaniela doesn't have to be in his billibed anymore, so Cea got to hold him all day today.

Here are some fun pictures for you all to see. This is Kaniela's bed set. It was made for him by his Koko (Grandma Wunder) with a little help from Kevin's cousing Kenji. We think that it is so cute. We hope you enjoy the pictures from another day in our home.

More Family. More Fun.

Today was a fun day in our home. We spent the morning relaxing with Kaniela. He was in his little billibed for majority of the day. We took him to the doctor to get another test done, and we have good news. Kaniela is going to be able to get out of his billibed tomorrow. We're so excited to be able to hold him for majority of the day...well at least Cea is able to hold him, Kev has to go back to work and school. Thanks goodness that Momma Shaffer is able to be here with Cea to help. We had family visitors today, and we were really excited about that. Two of our big brothers came with their families. Here are some fun pictures of our day.

Thank goodness for great family. Our little Kaniela continues to grow...he's noticeably bigger to us today than he was yesterday. Sorry that we haven't written as much. We just figure that everyone would rather see pictures of a cute baby than listen to his Dad ramble on :)!!!
