TAP TAP

The Ad Lab keeps us pretty busy. There is a project that we're beginning to work on that I'm really excited about. First....a little bit of background.

Did you know that every 15 seconds a child dies due to the lack of clean water?  We take for granted the fact that we have clean water straight from the tap.   UNICEF partnered with a New York advertising agency, Droga 5, to come up with the TAP project.

The premise:
$1 will provide a child with clean water for forty days.

It's really that easy.  But what makes the TAP Project beautiful is how simple they've made it to donate.  How many times have you seen a commercial for a charity that you want to donate, but the actual act of calling someone, sending money in the mail, or giving your credit card information is enough to prevent you from donating?  Well, in March of 2007, Droga 5 and UNICEF introduced "Water Week", where restaurant patrons in New York were asked to donate $1 for the tap water that they would normally drink at a restaurant.  How simple, you don't have to change anything that you do or go out of your way to donate, but you get to help save lives.

The BYU Ad Lab has been asked to be the agency of record for the TAP Project in Utah.  Our role is to unveil the project with local insights next year.  It is one of the most meaningful accounts that any of us will be able to work on, and we feel lucky and honored to do so.  It is awesome to think that the work that we are going to do can and will affect the lives of thousands around the world.

Stay tuned for more information as the project moves forward.  If you want any more information about how you can get involved, shoot me a message or go to www.tapproject.org.

That is interesting. Up here at Weber, Vis Comm is working with UTA for clean air.

The end result should produce some great stuff..
